When we’ve not been busy watching the kids, I’ve been helping Catherine redesign her blog at CatCanCook.Com. It’s a lot more colourful now and we’re really happy with the changes.
Her Awesome Banana Muffin Recipe has been really popular, so she decided to post her Awesome Carrot Cake Recipe as well!
If you’re looking for recipes, craft ideas, or resources for parenting, be sure to add Catherine’s Blog to your bookmarks.

My brother Kevin Robertson’s new comic American Soil is now available to order in both print and PDF copies. It’s a Horror Comedy Political Satire inspired by the U.S. led “War on Terrorism”, and set amidst an invasion of flesh eating zombies. Fantastic artwork, and a very entertaining script make this a great book for those interested in comics, horror films, and recent political events. I recently asked Kevin some questions about the book, and the process that brought it together.

Dirk Schwieger is a German artist living in Tokyo. Each week people from around the world send him social assignments to complete, such as meeting a local DJ, riding a rooftop roller-coaster, or talking about gender in Japan. Dirk illustrates his efforts to complete these tasks and posts the results for everyone to see.
Last week two different people asked Dirk to go out and try Sushi and Natto, which he describes as having a ‘mouldy smell and gooey texture’. At least he liked the Sushi. This might explain why you can buy Sushi at the local supermarket here in Canada, but Natto is something I’ve never even heard of.
I have a few friends who’ve spent time in Japan, and I’ll have to ask them for some suggestions for places Dirk should visit and illustrate in his journal.
