Game Design Theory, Part I
Wednesday, November 8th, 2006One of my goals in 2006 was to finish the game I had started working on last year. I’ve spent some time looking at various game design theories on the web, and found that there were many things I agreed with, like Chris Crawford’s definition of how games differ from other activities. I also found a lot of theory discussion relating to video games and roleplaying games that I didn’t find as useful, or straight forward. Here is a brief overview of my thinking on game design theory, in case anyone else interested in designing their own game would find this helpful.
